He does not delight in the strength of the horse; He takes no pleasure in the
legs of a man. The LORD takes pleasure in those who fear Him , in those who hope
in His mercy. Psalm 147:10,11
Hello from the Braces.
Lessons and Home visits:
It’s been great teaching at the eleven schools in Perry County. It’s a challenge to remember which faces go to which schools while out and about. It can be overwhelming at times, but we love working with the students and teachers. Now that we have completed the school year, we have to focus on the lessons that many students chose to do (some yet to finish) to attend camp free for the summer. We are compiling our list of home visits for first year campers. Parents/guardians are able to ask questions about camp and
get a clearer picture of what a week of camp will be like.
We have many things on our list to get the horses ready for camp. Some saddles need to be repaired, deworming, hoof trimming, and conditioning of some horses, etc. We have several community students that come to help and learn. Pray for wisdom and safety as we work with the horses and opportunities to talk to young people. We are thankful for the free rolls of hay offered to camp recently. The horses love the Sericea Lespediza (comparable to alfalfa-grown mostly on the reclaimed strip mines.)
Praises and Prayer Requests
***One day, recently, Mary Beth was baking in the oven at home. The bottom heating element started zapping
and then burst into a flame. It was a good thing she was in the kitchen at the time. She quickly turned off the oven. After checking around for new/used ovens all over town, Nate found a used appliance store that sold used heating elements for $15. It is so much better than a new heating element for $50 or the price of
a new stove.
***Pray for Shiloh as she will be working at a national park this summer in North Carolina. She is also seriously considering an overseas semester of study with Cornerstone in Israel this fall. We continue to pray for each of our children as they minister in various ways.
***The overnights have passed and it’s been great hanging out with the many that came to camp for an overnight stay. Some experienced camp for the first time. It’s enjoyable to hear of the older attendees (like the junior high school students) that can’t wait for the Break Away overnight event and to come to summer camp. ***Work Groups: There have been a lot of work groups this spring. Huge trees have been removed from
behind the chapel to prepare for the new girls cabin to be completed ready to be used by the Break Away Retreats in the fall. At the horse barn boards have been painted and replaced. Even children from the recent work group that oversees the senior citizens days were out picking up sticks and debris all around camp.
What Are We Looking Forward To?
April 27-29th is the Couple’s Retreat
May 14-18 th is Spring Conference and work week. You are welcome to come and help. Just let camp know to accommodate you.
Summer staff will arrive June 3rd. We are in need of more college guys to counsel for the summer. Please be in prayer for this especially.
Day camp 1-3rd grade June 6-8 It fills up fast!
Thank you for your faithful support and prayer. Taking the last two month average from our incoming support it looks to be 98%. Thank you for being a part of our lives and ministry. Your recent encouraging notes and
phone calls have been a blessing to us.
For God’s Glory,
Nate and Mary Beth Brace
