The last week has been slow here. Snow slows things down where we live. I remember a few years ago at this time of year. We were driving around town and passed the bank. The temperature read 72 degrees. I happily sighed. It was T-shirt weather, but at the same time we were listening on the radio of weather in MI. It was so cold Lake Superior was having ice problems and therefore shipping problems. I remember being happy living in the south. It feels like Spring to me....most of the time.
This winter is different. We haven't gone back to school from Christmas Vacation. Our pipes were froze yesterday. Places in the creek have frozen over. There was a day when the Library was closed...and the community college. (The girls were going to register for classes that day). The worst part about this snowy cold weather is that church gets cancelled. We sure do miss our Church family...and teaching from God's Word.
So have we don't during this "cabin fever" time?
1. Nate and Simeon went to the wood shop at camp to make a picnic table out of oak boards from the torn down old outdoor ed. storage building. It will be a heavy picnic table.
2. Shiloh and Shalisha are reading and watching a few vidoes. I'm reading, researching, studying character traits.
3. Practice guitar and piano. The girls practice/play piano too, but very different songs.
4. Feed the horses. Rode a few close-by trails, but the toes got cold quickly.
This is a time of waiting and bettering ones self in a few areas. Just waiting for some warm weather, but God is in control.
Psalms 147:15-17 "He sends out His command to the earth; His word runs very swiftly. He gives snow like wool; He scatters the frost like ashes; He casts out His hail like morsels; Who can stand before His Cold?"
