The weekend retreats are coming up. Songs that the campers know and love need to be picked and practiced. Good fun games need to be chosen. These jobs are our responsibility to help the campers have a memorable time.
What we need to remember right now?...
...Take time to enjoy life. Read a book, go for a walk, or go visit someone.
...Also, keep the goals in perspective, but don't overdue or the goals will be burdensome.
The story of Jesus feeding the 5,000 has been brought to mind lately. Maybe it's because we easily get overwhelmed just thinking about future things, and we wonder how everything will all work out. (I personally think of college costs, but you may have something else in mind in your life.) In the story, Jesus wasn't overwhelmed at all. He took something very little (5 loaves and 2 fish) and increased it amazingly to feed the very hungry people who would have fainted along the way if they would have been told to go home. God is good!
We may not understand how things will work out in our lives, but we just keep on believing and have faith that God will take care of it all.
The story of the feeding of the 5,000 is found in Matthew 14: 13-21
I especially like the last verse of the previous chapter:
Matthew 13:58 "Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief."
Keep On Beleiving.
