I have been reading lately the book about The Power of Prayer in a Believer's Life. It is compiled and edited by Robert Hall. What is compiled? Charles Spurgeon's sermons. I've been enjoying them and I have been overwhelmed by them.
Last year...at the beginning of the year I chose to focus on the fruits of the spirit. There were nine of them to work on and work through. I can say that through the year God brought those nine words to mind (Galations 5:22-23).
I think this year I want to focus on being more specific in praying. And, Oh, there is so much to pray about. It seems so overwhelming sometimes, (but God is never overwhelmed!) He commands us to pray.
My little 2 1/2 year old great niece was just diagnosed with cancer (leukemia). My heart seems to be in constant prayer for her and her family hours away. You can see her here: https://www.facebook.com/NoelsBattle?pnref=story I am asking will you pray with me for her?
I just found out today that my son Ethan broke his hand. He says he will be painting one handed for the next 6-8 weeks.
I will go tomorrow to Sunday School and church and hear many other prayer requests.
It's time to get disciplined...get out the notebook and write them down those requests and then go over them....and over them....and over them again. It's time for me to get more specific this coming year when it comes to one of the most powerful resources that I have. ...and God told me to use it.
How about you. Are you praying? Maybe you will choose to join me in the coming year to start praying with a renewed passion, zeal, and commitment. After all...that's God's desire for us.
