I am writing because I have an urgent request for you to pray over. I have been given the ability to go on a mission trip with Tates Creek Presbyterian Church, from Lexington Ky, on the 21th of November through the 1st of December.
The cost will be $2350 which I will be raising through support letters. I will be traveling with around nine other team members from the Lexington area, and also a close friend from south east Kentucky.
It has been planned by alumni of the trip that we will be traveling through Lithuania, Germany, and spending the majority of our time in Belarus.
While we are traveling we will be ministering to Orphans, College students, Homeless, and Believers in two Churches. Neither I nor my close friend, Lindsey Anderson, has ever been to Eastern Europe. We have however collected some information on the economy and how the government is faring and have come to the conclusion that the people are still under the whip-lash of the communist rule, though the people are “free,” they have to live with harsh rules of conduct and the silent oppression of western countries, where they accept them but think less of them because they are from eastern Europe.
As you can imagine this feeling can dull a person to the extent where they learn not to care what others think about them or how others feel about them. It is the same way with spirituality, the vast majority is Eastern Orthodoxy, 48.3% and Irreligion or atheism is 41.1%. Belarus, since the spread of the Gospel in the Middle Ages, has been taken with the gospel in some form. There has always been a light in this place. It seems however Satan is using this recent acceptance and rejection of communism to gain a foothold in the countries soul, the people. For once the western people of Europe start rejecting the people of Belarus then fear, hatred, guilt, and then apathy sets into their hearts and it is very hard to become closer to the Lord with this corrosion of the soul.
Missionary friends of mine has said that their time in Eastern Europe, be it a couple months or a couple years, was filled with spiritual battle, a heavy and weighty soul and mind. It is through this 10 day adventure into God’s beautiful creation that we expect to serve the church and encourage them, to pray for them and to be a friend, and to show the Light to move toward for the people around the places we will be staying.
Please pray for preparations of our and the European’s hearts and souls as we prepare to go. Please also keep me in prayer as I balance going to school at University of Kentucky, raising money, getting my passport, and becoming different and one with the Lord.
I am so excited for this opportunity to serve! I haven’t been out of the country since I came back from my time with YWAM in Norway and I know that God has great things to show me even though it is 10 days. Even though it is 10 DAYS! I will be missing some school for this. I have really been loving school, but I know that I need to do this. If it hurts my grades a bit for the cause of Christ, I am willing to sacrifice to see what God is doing in Europe. I will Follow Him anywhere!
I am just getting so excited writing this! God has given me the ability to serve Him at the University of Kentucky as well. The Students in my classes are becoming friends. I see around campus and get coffee with them to see how they are doing, and ask if I can pray for them, and to let them know that I will do anything I can for them. God has brought me to a place where I know that I am serving Him and I am so content, happy, and satisfied with life.
If you would like to a part of this ministry…which you already are just by reading this. HA! But, really, If you would like to consider helping me meet my required goal for the trip, with a gift of $50, $100, $200 or more or helping with a specific area, such as putting money toward the airplane ticket, or if you would like to help with the renewing of my passport fee, which is around $135 and will be a great investment for future mission trips.
Any gift that you feel God is leading you to give would be appreciated also. If you would like to give towards this need simply make your check payable to Tates Creek Presbyterian Church and mail it in the envelope provided. All gifts made out to Tates Creek Presbyterian Church are tax deductible! Please send all letters to:
1828 McDonald Ave

I am looking forward to hearing from you. Just to say that you are praying for me and the team would be such blessing. I will also make sure to send a weblink connecting you to the pictures of me and the group in Belarus, to those who are interested in supporting me in prayer and with finances. Just make sure to leave an email or Facebook name on the letter.
God bless you in all you do and may your feet run down the path that God has set at your feet.
All my love,
