We traveled an hour and a half to get him...over the mountian and past Harlan to Caywood. Whew! I still need to work on my stress levels as we go around those curves and down steep roads.
He is now at the barn in a two week quarentine. The other horses are at the other end of camp, and I pray nothing will happen that they get out. Sometimes there are elk that knock down the electric fences. Sometimes tree branches fall. I take regular walks around the perimeter of the pasture to make sure all is well with the fencing. The fence walking is not just another job to do. It's ok. It's a God time for me.
I can't wait to start riding him to see what he knows. I was told he's had professional training and is an eight year old gelding. We will see how he rides tomorrow. :)
What is his name? I'm a bit flustered. The owners said his name was Levi. It's a good name, but we already have a Levi. Oh, what to do? I can't have two Levi's. I got the impression that the man who GAVE him to us didn't want his name changed. Sigh. I realize I can't make everyone happy in life, but I like to try. I know it isn't realistic. ...What about LEVIticus? :)
