I was working so hard going over to feed the horses two times a day, dividing out the hay and always wondering if it was enough. During those times we had problems with wood chewing.
In the end, I listened to my husband. It was a good decision. Things have been so much easier. I don't have to race over to feed. I spend more time working with the horses than just feeding them. We have a spear attached to the tractor to haul the big bales around easily. We put round bales out to the horses and they eat whatever they want. They eat whenever they want. There is no more wood chewing. The round bales were stored inside, so there isn't any moisture or mold. The horses eat them quickly so the round bales don't lay around outside very long to get moldy.
Life can be hard or easy. Sometimes it is easier to try new things. I can listen and go along and just see if things work out, or I can adamantly fight to have my own way. Life sure is a lot easier now.
