One Sunday morning while in church I turned around and there was Bridget. I went over to her and we talked a bit and caught up on life's situations. Some things in Bridget's life are very exciting. She gave me permission to share them with you.
I've known Bridget for over ten years. She's been a faithful camper coming to just about every camp event. Last summer she started working at camp and it's been a joy to watch her excitement...and she's such a willing worker.
She also attends our church and youth group. Isn't it a joy to watch young people grow in the Lord and you know by their answers they are developing much Biblical knowledge? But there is something more that I must tell you that I am excited about.
I think her seeing our daughter Shalisha's involvement and passion in Youth With a Mission made an impact on her, for since that time, while she was in high school, she's looked into the possibility of attending. She's gotten her application in and she's been accepted for the YWAM in Coatsville, PA. She will be there for about three months then will go to Africa for the rest of the year.
That acceptance was a over a year ago. Since then she's been raising her funds. She's gone to churches in the area and told them of her plans and needs.
Our church has been keeping her funds for her. Little by little, step by step she is working her way to a year of learning and ministry.
She now has half of her funds. I say, "Way to go, Bridget!"
Would you prayerfully consider helping Bridget? Could you send a small gift to help and encourage her? You can send it to Davidson Baptist Church with "For Bridget Cuddy" in the memo. The address is: Davidson Baptist Church, 1912 Ky Highway 28, Hazard, KY 41701
By the way...she may be my distant relative. My maiden name is Cuddie, but in historical records there were spellings of Cuddy in my line of relatives too. Small world.
