There were shepherds in the fields
tending flocks at night.
Then an angel came,
heaven's glory shining bright.
Do not be afraid.
I bring you news of joy.
For in the town of Bethlehem
there is a baby boy.

off into the night,

went to see the wondrous sight.
There they found the babe,
