It's about time to get out of the house and be on our way.

First we're going to camp and taking care of the horses.  They come into the barn and we tie them in their places and we grain them, check on their water, (while the water is filling Mary Beth usually digs up a few nasty weeds), check on their hay, and make sure they are all fine and dandy...no cuts or problems.  There won't be time to ride today at the barn.  We unhook the horses and send them out for the day.

We are on our way to the Moushon residence.  Nate and Tim will work on that old Jeep.  I will visit Michele for awhile and then and I will go to Lia's to ride and work out her horses for a while.  Maybe Michele will go with me.  Who knows?  Three of Lia's horses will be coming to camp.  One pony hasn't had too much work so I put him through some paces and push his buttons.  Lia cringes a bit at my fearlessness, but I try to get the horses pushed along into situations so they are used to it come summer with campers on their backs.  Besides, I need the riding time.  I will be going to the Certified Horsemanship Clinic next week in OH and was told to plan on riding up to 8 hours a day.  It's five days.  Whew!  I need to be in shape!

About 2:30 or so I will go pick up Nate from the Jeep situation and we will go to Calvary Campus to observe their riding program.  The have groups of at risk kids come over everyday after school to work with the horses, get a snack and a bit of help with homework.  It's good!  We hear good things and changes in these teens.  We want to see what's going on.

Not done yet:  The day isn't done.  Nate has a raquetball game set up at the pavillion in town.  He loves it.  I will go along and walk the track and swim in the pool.  ...Another get in shape block of time.  We get done there around 8.

So there you go...one day in my life with husband and horses and life in general getting ready for a wonderful summer camp season.
